Services: Counseling and information services are available, as is tuŽtoring in most subjects. There is remedial math, reading, and writing.

Programs of Study: BYUH confers B.A., B.S., B.F.A., and B.S.W. degrees. Associate degrees are also awarded. Bachelor’s degrees are awarded in BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE (biology/biological science), BUSIŽNESS {accounting, business administration and management, hotel/ motel and restaurant management, and international business manageŽment), COMMUNICATIONS AND THE ARTS (art, English, and fine arts), COMPUTER AND PHYSICAL SCIENCE (chemistry, computer programming, computer science, and mathematics), EDUCATION (art. business, elementary, science, secondary, and teaching English as a second/foreign language (TESOL^TEFOL)), HEALTH PROFESSIONS (predentistry and premedicine), SOCIAL SCIENCE (history, Pacific area studies, political science/government, psychology, social work, and soŽciology). Biological science, information systems, and education are the strongest academically. Business, education, and information systems are the largest.
Required: Students must complete the 44- to 62-credit general educaŽtion curriculum, as well as meet English proficiency, religious education, health, and phys ed requirements. A total of 128 credit hours, including 24 in the major, must be earned with a minimum GPA of 2.0 for graduŽation.
Special: BYUH offers work-study programs within the community, coŽoperative programs in most majors, nondegree study, and pass/fail opŽtions. There are 5 national honor societies, and a freshman honors proŽgram.
Faculty/Classroom: 69% of faculty are male; 31%, female. All teach undergraduates and 15% both teach and do research.
Admissions: 47% of the 1997-98 applicants were accepted. The ACT scores for the 1997-98 freshman class were: 63% below 21, 14% beŽtween 21 and 23, 14% between 24 and 26, 4% between 27 and 28, and 5% above 28.
Requirements: The SAT I or ACT is required. A GPA of 2.8 is reŽquired. The applicant should be a high school graduate. Home-schooled and other nontraditional students should call for more information. AP and CLEP credits are accepted. Important factors in the admissions decision are advanced placement or honor courses, evidence of special talŽent, and recommendations by school officials.
