Requirements: The SAT I or ACT is required. A GPA of 2.7 is re¬quired. Candidates for admission must graduate from an accredited sec¬ondary school or earn a GED. High school course work in English, a foreign language, social studies, math, and natural science is recom¬mended. Applications of students not meeting these requirements will be reviewed, and students may be admitted on a probationary basis. Ap¬plications are accepted on computer disk via CollegeLink. AP and CLEP credits are accepted. Important factors in the admissions decision are advanced placement or honor courses, leadership record, and personality/intangible qualities.
Procedure: Freshmen are admitted fall and spring. Entrance exams should be taken in the fall of the senior year. There are early admissions and deferred admissions plans. Application deadlines are open, along with a $20 fee. Notification is sent on a rolling basis.
Transfer: 48 transfer students enrolled in 1997-98. Transfer appli¬cants must supply a recommendation form, available from the Baker Admissions Office. An ACT or SAT I score, official high school tran¬script and class ranking, and official transcripts of all colleges courses are also required. The minimum GPA is 2.7, and at least 15 credits must have been earned. 31 credits of 132 must be completed at Baker.
