Bachelor’s degrees are awarded in BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE (biology/biological science), BUSI¬NESS (accounting, business administration and management, and marketing/retailing/merchandising), COMMUNICATIONS AND THE ARTS (communications and English), COMPUTER AND PHYSICAL SCIENCE (chemistry, information sciences and systems, mathematics, and statistics), EDUCATION (elementary, middle school, and second¬ary). ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN (industrial administration/management), HEALTH PROFESSIONS (cytotech-nology, health care administration, medical laboratory technology, nu¬clear medical technology, nursing, occupational therapy, and ultrasound technology), SOCIAL SCIENCE (addiction studies, history, pastoral studies, psychology, religion, and sociology). Business, nursing, and ed¬ucation are the strongest academically and the largest. Required: Degree requirements include completion of 124 credit hours, 30 of which must be upper-division. The number of credits re¬quired in the major varies. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required for gradu¬ation, and students must fulfill the college’s liberal arts requirement, in¬cluding courses in philosophy and theology.
Special: KNC offers cooperative programs with Washington Universi¬ty and Boston College and cross-registration with Friends University. Students can earn accelerated degrees in business management or edu¬cation. Work-study programs are available, and credit may be conferred for life, military, and work experience. Students seeking nondegree study may enroll on a space-available basis. There are 3 national honor societies.
Faculty/Classroom: 40% of faculty are male; 60%, female. All teach undergraduates and 1% both teach and do research. No introductory courses are taught by graduate students. The average class size in a reg¬ular course is 14.
