Admissions: 80% of the 1997-98 applicants were accepted. The ACT scores for the 1997-98 freshman class were; 36% below 21, 22% be¬tween 21 and 23, 21% between 24 and 26, 10% between 27 and 28, and 12% above 28.
Requirements: The SAT I or ACT is required, with a minimum com¬posite score of 18 on the ACT. A GPA of 2.0 is required. Candidates for admission must graduate from an accredited secondary school with 23 high school academic credits, including 4 credits of English, 2 1/2 each of math and social studies, and 2 each of history and science. 2 credits of a foreign language are recommended. The GED is accepted. Essays and interviews are recommended for all applicants. AP and CLEP credits are accepted. Important factors in the admissions decision are recommendations by school officials, recommendations by alumni, and leadership record.
Procedure: Freshmen are admitted to all sessions. Entrance exams should be taken during the spring of the junior year or fall of the senior year. There are early admissions and deferred admissions plans. Appli¬cation deadlines are open; there is a $15 fee. Notification is sent on a rolling basis.
Transfer: A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required. 30 credits of 124 must be completed at KNC.
