Bachelor’s degrees are awarded in BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE (biology/biological science), BUSINESS (accounting, business administration and management, marketing/retailing/ merchandising, and office supervision and management), COMMUNICATIONS AND THE ARTS (communications, English, and music), COMPUTER AND PHYSICAL SCIENCE (chemistry, computer programming, computer science, mathematics, and natural sciences), EDUCATION (athletic training, business, elementary, health, middle school, music, physical, science, secondary, and special), HEALTH PROFESSIONS (medical laboratory technology), SOCIAL SCIENCE (biblical studies, history, humanities, international studies, ministries, philosophy, psychology, religion, social science, and sociology). The sciences are the strongest academically. Business and education are the largest.
Required: All students must complete 47 to 59 hours of general education courses, including biblical and religious studies, history of diverse cultures, creative expression, natural and mathematical systems, values, social sciences, language, communication, computer literacy, physical fitness, and a college success seminar. A total of 124 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in order to graduate.
Special: Cross-registration is offered with the Association of Colleges of Central Kansas. Study abroad in 3 countries is possible through the Council of Mennonite Colleges. Dual majors, student-designed majors, a Washington semester for juniors or seniors, and pass/fail options are available, as is a 3-2 engineering degree with Wichita State University. An accelerated degree program in management organizational development and preprofessional curricula in allied health, law, and medicine are also offered. There is a freshman honors program, and 1 departmental honors program.
