Financial Aid: In 1997-98, 94% of all freshmen and 90% of continuing students received some form of financial aid. 90% of freshmen and 87% of continuing students received need-based aid. The average freshman award was $12,662. Of that total, scholarships or need-based grants averaged $7978 ($14,550 maximum); loans averaged $4431 ($5100 maximum); and work contracts averaged $253 ($1600 maximum). All undergraduates work part time. Average annual earnings from campus work are $1400. The average financial indebtedness of the 1997 graduate was $19,000. The FAFSA is required. The fall application deadline is open.
International Students: The school actively recruits these students. They must score 530 on the TOEFL and also take the SAT I.
Computers: The mainframe is a DEC MicroVAX 3400. 61 networked PCs are available to students at various locations. Desktop publishing, spreadsheet, database, word processing, graphics, presentation, and E-mail software are available. All students may access the system 24 hours a day. There are no time limits and no fees. The college strongly recommends that students have personal computers, preferably a Pentium PC or higher.
Graduates: In 1997, 81 bachelor’s degrees were awarded. The most popular majors were accounting (22%), professional studies (15%), and management (12%). In an average class, 49% graduate in 4 years, 57% in 5 years, and 60% in 6 years. 58 companies recruited on campus in 1996-97.
